The Tsuta Tribe (ツタ族, Tsuta-zoku) is one of the 12 non-human races. They are followers of Dragons and not much else is known about them. They have been called the "embodiment", the "messengers", and the "children" of Dragons. Since ancient times, they have battled against the Rato Tribe, the only ones capable of defeating Dragons, and have a great hatred for them.[1] The Tsuta Tribe is actually far stronger than the Rato Tribe and all other races, even though the Rato are regarded by the world to be the strongest race. This is not well-known because the Tsuta Tribe have secluded themselves inside a certain mountain away from people due to their strength. Perhaps due to their suppressed lifestyle, when they are about to die they lose their sense of self and become Dragons.[2] Like Dragons, they are impervious to most attacks, save for Koki.

A powerful group of six Tsutas, the Dragon Knights (竜騎士, Ryūkishi) are under the direct command of Illuyankas, the Tsuta Queen. They seem to have been dormant for the past 2000 years before confronting the Nines and the ones aiding them.[3]

AppearanceEdit

Tsutas have no pupils and dragon-like feet, but otherwise they are humanoid in appearance, with faint scales on their faces. Notably, Vuvun, one of the Dragon Knights, looks far more dragon-like in appearance, possessing a snout and tail.

Tsutas can fight using horn-like appendages they can sprout from their backs during battle. Similarly, they can sprout more thin, sharp appendages from their arms and legs.

PlotEdit

The Tsuta Tribe rarely leaves the Dragons' mountain. However, they attacked the Rato Tribe town while the Nines were away fighting, heavily damaging the town and injuring many Ratos.[1]

With an unprecedented 50m Dragon outside the battlefield, the Tsuta Tribe, Dragons, and the 6 Dragon Knights wage battle on the Rato Tribe Nines, who are aided by Noish, Lacile, Lululola and Popol.

TriviaEdit

  • "Tsuta" (ツタ) back-to-front is "Tatsu" (タツ, 竜), which means "dragon".
